Guru Slayer, Guru Slapper, Guru Drop-Kicker

Posted in Internet Marketing by alex on the April 9th, 2007

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Have you ever seen a guru, legs shattered, face swollen and bruised, crawling naked over broken glass to kiss your feet and beg for forgiveness?

Did you ever dream you would steal their ill-gotten fortunes and exact devastating revenge upon these smug liars and pied pipers?

Given the chance, would you take what’s rightfully yours and finally get even?

Well, would you?

Yes?

Then you should see a doctor because you’re sick in your little head.

*Laughs to self*

Please excuse the unpleasant imagery above. If you hadn’t noticed yet, it was just a parody.

You see I follow the new product launches diligently because they are both an opportunity for easy income and a pulse of the market.

That’s how I came across Guru Slayer, the new release by Andrew Fox, scheduled for tomorrow, April 10th , 11am Eastern Time.

The graphics are hot. The email delivery services are revving at maximum RPM. Yes folks, this is the next “Big One”.

I have a review copy and everything is fine and dandy except…

What the heck does the book I hold in my hands have to do with the name “Guru Slayer”? I read it twice trying to answer that question but to no avail.

And then the opening copy “The ebook that’s about shock the world and turn the internet marketing world upside down”.

Hun?

I never in a million years would have put it that way. Back to Guru Slayer in just a few.

And then there’s Guru Slapper. This one was brought to my attention lately by its creator Anthony Tomei.

“Punch, kick, SLAP.” Holy smokes Batman, the guru really didn’t see that one coming did he?

Here’s the quick deal on this ebook. It’s a blind sales letter meaning you don’t know what you’re buying until you’ve paid for it. All you do know is that it’s like poking a guru in the eye with a sharp stick.

Once again though, it very little to do with dolling out any kind of punishment towards anybody. It describes a pretty solid method that, it’s true, the gurus never talk about. Maybe they don’t even know about it.

To be fair to the author, I won’t publicly tell you what it’s about. If you’re rather new to affiliate marketing, or you don’t have a lot to spend on PPC, you’ll want to think about getting this. The method is solid and the price is fair (If you email me I’ll tell you what it’s about).

Internet marketing has trends. Adwords Black Book by Mister X was probably the detonator that set off the chain reaction.

The trend grew stronger with Affiliate Project X and it found substantial validation since both products were border line excellent.

After that, we announced the Death of Adsense

Then began to sprout the “me too” slap, slay, punish, torture crowd. The trend was in full steam and the monster was born.

Day Job Killer:

The only thing released in 2007 that could do a guru any kind of harm, financially speaking. And that should have been the end of that marketing trend.

It would have been tasteful. But this industry isn’t known for that.

Instead, we need to see things go down in flames. Like the superstar athlete that hangs on too long and gets booed off the court, a sad end to an otherwise glorious career.

Some people are going to say it after Guru Slayer. I’ll say it right now:

Enough with the guru bashing already. Only put the hat on if it fits. Be original for Pete’s sake, are we really that thin on marketing stories?

My guru related ramblings end here.

But don’t leave this post with the wrong idea in mind. Guru Slayer is not a bad product. It has some very strong merits.

The marketing is what got to me. I know Andrew Fox, not personally but we have spoken several times before. He is as close as you can get to a real genuine great guy. Down to earth, sober, helpful and accessible. This is the kind of guy I’m happy to buy a product from.

This was as much a rant as it was a review. If you want my facts and lowdown, read this full Guru Slayer Review.

    Great post Alex.

Yeah, I felt the same. I started doing the typical affiliate project x presell…then decided to really make a real review of it. I had to be honest, cause I didnt think Guru Slayer was all it was hyped to be. It certainly isnt going to “turn Internet marketing on its head.

But Andy does seem like a genuine guy and aside from the hype…it was a decent product because it laid out a plan that people can act on.

sometimes its hard to sell a product you yourself arent overly excited about…but in any case…I didnt want to join the hype crowd and say what I really didnt think of it.

I emailed you my temp site where I have my review set up…I was hoping to get a quick critique from someone more seasoned in writing these things than I am. only if you have time, I’m sure you’re busy trying to beat the GS promo like I am.

falling asleep on my pc last night sure didnt help getting things done. now Im stuck at work…watchig the clock til I can get back home and finish up.

    Hey Rian,

Guru Slayer isn’t bad at all in my opinion, it just isn’t what its marketing says it is. The formula in it, while not quite new is perhaps a better model than that proposed in 98% of ebooks.

I’ll visit your site and get you some constructive critics before you get home from work.

    Cheers,

    Alex

FYI: On your review/sales page, near the bottom “Buy Guru Slayer Through This link” isn’t a link.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for watching out for me.

I was aware of it and actually there are no live links on the page. I will be adding them now as I rushed this page out last minute late yesterday evening, hoping it would be indexed by launch.

It isn’t yet, so it will be tight.

    Thanks for your comment,

    Alex

    Thanks Alex,

2 hours to go…and I dont even have my bonus done…doing my video now.

I dont think the Guru Slayer was a bad product either as I say in my review…bad title, maybe…(shouldve stayed on theme)

But also, Day Job Killer was only a few months back….its hard for anyone’s product to live up to that monster

    Hey Rian,

Indeed, Day Job Killer was a record breaker. Guru Slayer is very different although the trend is somewhat similar, with more focus on business building than pure XYZ tactics.

wow…ppc has suddenly got extremely expensive. Im on the 2nd page paying .80…I dont think I even paid that much when I promoted Day Job Killer for page 1. it funny how an obscure phrase can suddenly become so expensive

80 cents for page two… Not too bad yet. How is your CTR? Email if you don’t want to show here.

How High did you go for DJK? I went up to nearly $3 for top ad position… Was still worth it on the first day though, especially with Chris’s upsell…

    Hi,

I’m used to buy several eBooks around, sometimes only to check the content…knowing upfront that I’ll be running a big risk of buying another “hype”,,,but anyway…I think we can always get something new…or faced from a different angle…
I bought Guru Slayer…and so far as I could notice I was one of the early birds…it was about 11:02 AM…just a coincidence…
I may say that may be a lot to learn for newbies..and almost nothing to “veterans”…this is my humble opinion…
Just an advice to the author…Please, next time you’ll record a video, use a professional MIC and do that in a room that has no “echo”…
This is realy very annoying to listeners…

    Thanks for reading,

    Luiz

PS. I’m not a native english speaking..so please forgive the mistakes..:-)

    Hi Luiz,

Thanks for your comment and sharing your perspective. A lot of these “gurus” are really new at the video thing.

You’d think he could also have had the sales letter proofread… Oh well, it works anyways.

    Cheers,

    Alex

You bet Alex…as you well pointed in your review…the sales letter is far from what we find inside the eBook.
By the way…I completely forgot about buying it from your link…my apologies ..:-)
If you dont mind..let me change the subject a little bit…
I just finished reading your GREAT!!!! Adsense Arbitrage Exposed…man I think you should sell it…it has WAY MORE! important and straight to the point info than all “$97’s” around…anyway..thanks for the gift…:-)
Actually, I do ppc arbitrage ( I had no idea that this was the name…) since 2001, but in a different way…
My question is: Would be a good idea to create an “arbitrage club” or something like that..you got the point…managed by YOU!! …and with the participation (and investment) of some fellow reader here? Am I crazy or would it be an interesting idea?
    I lok forward your comments…

    Take care,

    Luiz

This day job killer scam, I mean, guru slayer scam is just a scam. Unless you are looking for a scam, I would suggest avoiding the guru slayer Andrew Fox scam.

    Hi Luiz,

Thanks again for your comment. I thought the report was pretty solid too, but I wanted to offer my longtime subscribers a valuable free gift.

If you’ve been doing arbitrage for a while, it may be interesting to talk more about it. I’ll email you in a minute.

    Cheers,

    Alex

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for your comments.

If you want to email me, it’s alex (at) the domain you see in the browser bar. (I loathe email spam)

@ willie crawford: How do you go calling other people scammers when you impersonate legit marketers to make claims you don’t back up with any info? Naughty boy.

Hey Rian….is your “count me in” related to my “arbitrage club” idea? :-)

  19. Rian said,

yeah….somehow everything got out of sequence. but yes “count me in” for the arbitrage idea. I should setup a forum, (secret forum) to exchange niche idea, post templates, etc. where would I find the time?

Would you be kind enough to send me some additional information about Guru Slapper?

I’ve been offered this product but as you so well described ” it’s a blind sales letter”. I wonder how an experienced marketer comes up with a sales page like that: I think it makes him loose sales besides contributing to a higher rate of refund requests.

But who am I to judge a Guru Slapper?…

  21. alex said,

    on April 14th, 2007 at 12:27 am

    Hi Ari,

I’ll email you more info now. Blind sales letters work, especially with beginners. It’s a tradeoff… I think he definitely would make less sales with another type of sales letter.

You can also read the next post to find out what you need to know.
