It’s about milking the SEO linking power of Web 2.0 until the cows come home and then giving it another go for good measure.

As usual, some people will want to stick their long and unwelcome “ethical” nose into the debate. Should these tactics be used for Good or Evil? My answer is, all of the above.

There are many ways you can use social media sites, the most popular being Digg, Myspace, Stumble Upon and the rest of the usual suspects.

You can brand, you can get customers, you can socialize, network, market, solicit, flatter, flame or otherwise express yourself.

I for one am almost entirely uninterested in all of the above. What I’m after is backlinks. Big Juicy links that say my name b*tch (that would be anchor text, ya).

I’ve been meaning to write about this for a long time, in fact ever since Eli from SeoBluehat posted this little piece on keyword real estate.

This is some of that but also a lot more. The tactics are largely free and show you how you can get hundreds of solid counted backlinks for your new or old sites.

It’s so simple even baboons outsource it to other monkeys.

You can grab the 26 page report by opting in on the page below. There are no up sells, cross-pitches or Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Download Michelle MacPhearson’s Social Media Marketing Report.

Since the product is already very low priced at $77, we could only ask for a small reduction and I wasn’t quite happy with it.

So Rod and Jeff have done something far better…

They’re throwing in a killer piece of unreleased software as an exclusive bonus for Project Black Mask.  (The offer was so good I asked them to make a couple of extra copies for readers here and they accepted.)

You see they developed a commercial grade Blog Comment Submitter, something for which there is a huge hole in the market. You just can’t get your hands on something like this…

Well they built one (a darn good one) and decided at the last minute NOT to release it to the public.

They have a reputation to uphold and didn’t want to be branded as evil black hatters (as was almost sure to happen) since they have many bestsellers in other markets.

When Rod told us he had something “evil, that some might find offensive”, I knew we were on to something.

Here’s what it does:

- It goes out and finds blogs to automatically comment on based on the keywords you select
- It allows you to enter as many anchor texts as you want
- It works with proxies
- It queues jobs and works in the background so you can have it running 24/7 piling links on your sites on autopilot

You probably already have a good idea what Forum Equalizer does but here is a quick rundown:

- Allows you to semi-automatically register to hundreds of forums
- Allows you to automatically post your message and links to these forums (as many as you want)
- Gains you hundreds of free one-way backlinks AND direct traffic from the forums

As if that wasn’t enough, you get another piece of hard to come by software:

Guestbook Equalizer…
- It allows you to automatically post your messages and links across thousands of guestbooks for an additional flurry of one way links.

In other words, it’s the Black Hat Link Trident of Doom.

Forum Equalizer on its own is good but with the Blog Poster and other extras, the package is worth hundreds of dollars.

Not only that but it nets you links from 3 of the essential targets, which means you have 95% total linking arsenal, all in one. For only $77…

This is definitely one you don’t want to miss out on.

Just the Comment Poster is worth more than the price of the package and you get it as an exclusive bonus when you invest in Forum Equalizer through this link now:

Forum Equalizer with Comment Poster

You can’t get this anywhere else and this special is on for the first 20 buyers only.

You already understand how important it is to be able to command an avalanche of backlinks on auto-pilot.

This is a great value…

Forums around the net deleted posts about Project Black Mask, doing the ethical thing by turning their noses at nuisances such as democracy and freedom of speech.

Inflammatory blog posts sprung up right and left from so-called egg-spurts that shouldn’t even have the right to an inflammatory bowel.

So yes, I am the cockroach that wrote Project Black Mask. Chris McNeeney and the Day Job Killer Team are the guys with giant cojones that made sure this information could breakthrough the usual guru special blend of refried beans and tofu with “special sauce”.

Originality has a price. Project Black Mask was almost censored by the powers that be, just before it went live. However justice prevailed and the bad guys won, thus proving once again that who ever governs the balance of good and evil in this world has a sense of humor.

In all seriousness though, this is not a common ebook. I can count on the fingers of one hand the people that wouldn’t learn anything new from it. It has tips for all aspiring SEOs, which can be used for White, Grey, Black or Technicolor Hat.

A mere 2 days later, Google is doing one of its dances and he has been thrust far away from the party and onto the 5th page of results.

In this post, he speculates that Google is cracking down on the link back review format (review my blog and I’ll link to it).

I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with what John experienced in his rankings. The real problem is that the linking scheme looked unnatural and that’s what Google caught.

Let’s look at the facts:

There are approximately 80 batches of 10 reviews up on Johnchow.com. That means 800 blogs have linked to his home page, all of which used the anchor text “make money online”.

Considering John’s blog is so popular, he has tens of thousands of incoming links with all sorts of different anchor text, which normally would give him sufficient authority in the eyes of our search master to perform this Google Bomb in near total impunity.

If he had less “natural” links or his blog was less of an authority, he would have been penalized for all the perfect anchor text links long ago. So maybe, just maybe, he reached the threshold were Google says enough is enough with the bombing already.

But it’s probably more than that. The big trouble is that all the blogs that link to his home page with the desired term also link to his “review my blog” page.

That irrevocably screws the pooch and places John’s link strategy just below Pamela Anderson’s chest on the scale of “natural”.

Furthermore, John obligingly links back to the blogs that reviewed him in groups of ten. This only serves to make everything all the more obvious to the point where Googlebot would catch it even when high on crack.

Here’s how it could have gone differently:

• Vary the anchor text ever so slightly, keeping your core terms but adding modifiers.
• Find another way to announce your “review this blog” offer. This was surely a real killer.
• Slow things down a bit. 800 in the space of 2 months is a bit of an overkill.
• Find a way to publish the link backs to the blogs that reviewed you other than repeating the same rule of 10 over and over. Maybe by adding 3 links in a box at the end of each post, or perhaps rotating them in the sidebar, adding them to past posts… Anything but the way it was done.

As John says, it’s no great loss to him. The loss of the term barely makes s a 1% dent in his daily traffic.

I’m just surprised it went on for so long. This only proves that authority sites have extreme leeway when it comes to “creative” link hoarding but they are not entirely immune.

Google doesn’t want you manipulating the search results. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it, you should just be sneakier about it, that’s all.

If you’re like the 99.9 % of webmasters out there that always want more links and higher PR, then you’re bound to enjoy this little trick.

It’s a very simple one that you can accomplish without spending a single dime. Or you can automate it to massive levels for a couple of dollars.

In a nutshell, what we’re going to do is host a free “software download” on our site and submit that piece of freeware to a couple hundred software directories. Most of these will obligingly link back to our page with a nice followable link.

The more finicky SEOs will complain that the links aren’t perfectly relevant and they’ll be right, but only slightly.

Here is an oft used phrase in SEO: “a rising tide lifts all the ships”. It was coined by JFK to say that a good economic climate is favorable to every citizen.

The same is true in SEO. While I would prefer to get perfect anchor text links from extremely relevant sites, I will certainly not frown on getting hundreds of somewhat off topic links from strong, high PR directories.

That’s what we’ll do here. You can get enough link juice to give a new page up to PR4 and a pretty much guaranteed PR3 on a totally new site.

Here’s now it works:

1) Grab or create a piece of software which you can legally offer for free download on your site. This can be anything from a sitemap generator you have coded for you or even a screen saver you repackage. The quality is not important here, the point is to have something to submit.

2) Create a PAD file for your software. A PAD file is simply the data format you need to submit your software in so that the directories can complete the forms automatically. http://www.topshareware.com/PAD-Creator-download-4345.htm You can download one here that also includes a list of software directories to submit to. It’s Free…

3) Upload the software to your site with a .exe or .zip extension.

4) Either use your home page as the “developer site” or a nice page with a link to where they can download the software from your site. You can even choose anchor text that will be used to link through to this page…

5) Quickly create an info page about your download. A very brief description of what your software does will do fine. This is a second page who’s PR you will be boosting from which you will be able to pass link juice to your pages. here’s the one I made:XML sitemap

6) Submit your software to hundreds of directories. If you’re doing this manually, it will take a long time but you can still get good results by choosing the highest PR directories. If you prefer to automate it as I have, use Promosoft from www.develab.net .

7) Sit back as links are added to your page.

Use the “developer” page, which now has strong PR to pass specific anchor text links to your site’s important content and homepage.

And there it is. If you use the software, it virtually takes minutes to accomplish. You can do it again and again if you have a large number of sites or even for your blog farms, if you swing that way.

P.S. You can download the excellent XML sitemap generator here. It’s free.

It’s one of the most successful membership sites on the internet, almost always up against its cap of 500 members. There are many good reasons why it’s done so well and maintained its buzz for well over a year now.

One of the claims to fame is the $100 a day from Adsense system.

The basic premise is a step by step system to pulling in $100 a day from Adsense by building portal sites. No matter what anyone says about Adsense being dead or not paying as well anymore of MFA accounts being banned or whatever the funky story of the day may be, one hundred bucks a day with portals is one of the most attainable goals for the newbie webmaster.

For the average online marketer, it does entail acquiring a batch of new skills as well as a couple of pieces of software that are hard to do without.

Most of these skills are within the grasp of even the “greenest” beginner, but a lot of aspirants stumble over them nonetheless.

Lack of a step by step system to follow has been responsible for a great number of the amateurs who have failed to make a profitable business out of portal building,

I can tell you right away it’s one of the most valuable online resources for the webmaster with dark hat tendencies…

I recently had a talk with creator Adam Short and he brought my attention to a bunch of new features and benefits of membership.

The first and most important of these is a software application called magic builder. It’s pretty much a mass installer that allows you to automatically create hundreds of sites at a time across several different content generators that are included in the builder, namely RSSGM, YACG and Niche Creator.

The sweet part is that it can create the domains for you in your hosting panel so that you no longer have to use another piece of software to do that, nor will you spend ages doing it manually.

Finally, it also promotes your domains with the better known Black Hat methods, including blog commenting and trackbacks as well as guestbooks.

The other major addition to PGinsider is the Niche Quake video series. Adam also builds white hat sites to make money from affiliate programs or selling a product.

He actually gives away one of his real niches that has been making substantial cash for years despite very little work and nearly no updates at all.

The methods described are an excellent blueprint for building Virtual Real Estate either with content generators or using a more white hat, long term approach.

Most likely, the new membership site will be priced at $97 monthly, which is more than worth it. Even if you just sign up for a month to acquire the immense value that has accumulated there since last year, this is one you won’t want to miss.

It goes live on May 29th and there are less than 150 spots available.

Get all the details: read my full PGInsider review…

Update: There is now a special limited deal for you on the review page…

Ironically, the product was named Guru Slayer.

That’s not the story for today however. I think you will find this much more interesting. On launch day, the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages) looked quite odd and out of whack. Although they haven’t changed yet, they will shortly so I took a screenshot which is below.

This is what Google displays in the top 20 results page for Guru Slayer:

You’ll notice some interesting oddities even at a glance, not the most shocking of which is I failed to make it on the front page for the time being.  ;)

Having a top position for a product name like Guru Slayer on launch day will get you a good percentage of several thousand searches. Money, money, money.

I’ve numbered the results and explained them below:

1) Silly Blog:

Why silly? Common, this blog is brand smacking new. It still has the new car smell. There’s a grand total of 4 short posts on it.

Only one of those posts is about Guru Slayer. The domain is a 6 month old PR0.

All that to say, this site should have zero chance of ranking number one for the term without some pretty neat tricks. And it uses those tricks, which you’ll see quite plainly if you don’t already.

2) The Author’s Site:

Now this is where I really kick myself. The author’s site is ranking second? The site is brand new, zero links on Yahoo!’s site tool and only one indexed page. The only thing it has going for it is the product title in the domain name. Grr, it would have been so easy to rank for this.

3) Software Directories:

As you can see, 3 is all over the board. The reason for this is very simple. Richard Legg, the guy who’s silly blog is in position number one pulled a nice fast one on Google. Kudos to him, it worked great.

He just went and submitted Guru Slayer as a software to all these directories. Many of them give the user benefit of the doubt and list the “software” without running the listing through an editor first. The listing is automatically approved.

This gets Richard a whole bunch of keyword targeted one way back links from established sites. Not only does his site rank number one, but nearly half of the other results point directly to it.
Nice move, Mr. Legg.

4) Ezine Articles:

Bum Marketing anyone? If you ever doubted it works, do you need anymore proof? This is a classic, enough said.

5) Craigslist:

Another classic. Takes 30 seconds to write an ad and get it listed on craigslist. Guru Slapper anybody ?

6) – 7) – 8. Wordpress, Big IM site, Digg:

These are all high authority sites and that’s why you see them ranked here. They’re way down on the page though so I would expect they didn’t scoop up much in commissions if anything at all.

So here are my conclusions:

Firstly, that’s a damn sweet little trick Mister Legg used to suck huge and hungry launch traffic to his page.

Secondly, the SERPs are rather weak right now for the term, which means they will change any time soon, but the top results already cleaned out.

Thirdly, no one had the foresight to make a good squidoo lens about Guru Slayer. Done a couple of days in advance, it would have ranked top 5 for sure, with little effort.

All in all, while internet marketing on ebooks and the like seems very saturated, it’s still pretty much wide open on launch days. I’m sure you can also grab some grayish black SEO tips in here along the way to use for your ugly sites and blog farms yes?

Before we close this off, let’s play a little SERPs guessing game. Within the next 12 hours, the top ten results will change. Here’s my prediction:

Position 1 will go to Aojon, with his “ebooks are shit, download them from one of my warez links” antics.

Position 2 will go to yours truly with this Guru Slayer review, and possibly position three with my previous post. A double listing would be nice, eh Google?

Position 3 will go to Richard Legg’s blog, until Google sandboxes it or penalizes it for too many similar links.

Rest of the page: the author’s site might linger for a bit but will soon disappear, never to be seen again on the first page. Ezine Articles will keep a spot, USFreeads will gain one and so will Squidoo. Up to you to grab those places before the hype dies…

Usually that wouldn’t warrant upsetting my scheduled to be blogging in the grey hours of the early morning…

Last evening, I got an email from my friend Scott Trimble, he’s the PR guy behind the Halfagain team, makers of excellent software like The Blog Solution, rssEvolution, and rssMagician. They also run, in my opinion, the best PLR article club money can buy: the Content Club.

I’ve always found their offers to be more than fair but what they’ve done with the new Content Solution is almost ridiculous.

I’ve got loads of work cut out for me today and will likely be blogging again later because there is tons of stuff going on in the IM world. For now here is a short run down of what the new Content Solution does:

• Automatically grabs articles from article directories.
• Grabs ANY content from ANY RSS feed
• Scrapes the search engines
• Creates dozens of unique articles form a single piece of text
• Customizes an integrated markov generator to spit out remixed content at blinding speeds
• Creates RSS feeds with fresh content for any site you want on any platform

Scott started telling me that this was the best content generator ever to see the light of day. He also said he had an offer no one can refuse.

Seems he’s right on both counts.

Well almost. I do know one content generator that’s a strong rival, however it costs over 2000 smackers.

The real kicker is you can use Content Solution for free for the next 34 days.

Full featured, on your desktop version that leaves nothing out.

Mr.Trimble is a true gentleman: no need to enter your credit card or Paypal so they can bill you automatically if you forget to cancel.

If you don’t want to keep it at the end of the 34 days, you just stop using it and the license becomes invalid.

If you want to keep using it after that, you get a $30 rebate on the price of ownership, just for taking the trial.

That’s a very cool, no strings attached offer. You can thank Scott of having the guts to do something like this. Â If you believe in your software without the slightest doubt, you can afford to do this.

Closing note: You can use this for Black Hat, grey and nearly white, it has the flexibility to make completely readable content very quickly or spit out content generator style articles as fast as you could want them.

Try it for yourself, it’s a top notch application.

Be warned, this post is going to discuss black hat SEO and search engine spam in a friendly manner. Sissy whitehat whiners please abstain. Non-whiners are accepted.

I got an email lately from a buddy of mine Jared Croslow. He’s a pretty low profile kinda guy and you probably haven’t heard of him.

It’s a shame because he runs one of the most useful mass management tools on the web today (actually it’s the best in its class). It’s adequately called Domain Dashboard. I’ll get to Trackback Spider in just a moment, but this guy’s brilliance deserves a little introduction first.

Jared is a perfectionist with an attention to detail and functionality that makes the rest of us good citizens look like slobs. His tool is great for anybody that runs large amounts of sites.

For example, from the same panel, you can access, for each domain: the hosting, PR or the sites, indexed pages, the rank these pages have on the big three search engines, all the backlinks the pages have, the spider visits, the human visitors… In essence everything you need to know about all your domains, at a glance in one convenient location.

It gets better if you practice the darker arts of mass site building. If you’ve ever gone on a run of 500 domains or more, you can appreciate just how irritating it is to add all those domains to your hosting accounts, keep track of the passwords and logins and all that good stuff.

And never mind checking stats, it becomes overwhelming. Domain Dashboard is sold for $149 and it’s a spectacular value you will benefit from everyday of your long and prosperous internet journey.

But this post isn’t about Domain Dashboard. I only mention it because it has established an unparalleled standard of quality and respect for Jared’s work for me and a large slice of the industry.

So here’s what Jared’s email was about. He’s releasing a “trackback submission” software called “trackback spider”. This is a mass trackback posting tool that combines spectacular automation with superb levels of built in intelligence. In other words, every black hatter’s wet dream.

Anyways, I’ve been sworn to secrecy so I can’t leak too much here. Let’s see if I can give you a small idea.

On the one hand, it fetches huge amounts of trackback enabled blogs based on your keywords. It then allows you to post trackbacks in a special “slow release” formula, kind of like those all day cold relief tabs…

Well shoot, if I said more, I’d get myself in trouble. What you need to know for now is that it’s built on a disgustingly efficient frame that’s bound to make it the blog owner’s nightmare of 2007.

In case you haven’t grasped what this is about yet, think backlinks: thousands and thousands of keywords targeted one way backlinks. Evil backlinks…

As I write this, I’m almost experiencing a twinge of remorse. I get massive spam on this blog and it grows daily. I’ve made some “resource oriented posts” lately and I enjoy fraternizing with my more mainstream white hat counterparts.

But Net Frontier Marketing is more than just one spin on the internet marketing thing. If I can cover multiple angles, great.

That’s how this black had endorsing post fits into it all. Just like positive product reviews (comment hut) and negative ones (duvet dollars).

What’s my niche then? People that can put up with my dual nature and hybrid coverage.

Trackback Spider is scheduled for release in the near future and you can be sure I’ll give you a more in depth review as soon as its creator gives me the green light.

UPDATE: email me if it’s sold out and you want a spot, I have a couple of spots reserved for readers of this blog  (calgonite (at) gmail (dot) com ).

First the news.

Blog Solution has just been updated and it’s not your standard crummy upgrade that leaves you saying “so what”.

Think big.

Blog Solution is, in my opinion the best “mass blogging” platform available to the public.

It can create thousands of self-posting, self updating, automatic linking blogs in mere seconds. It’s so powerful it’s almost ridiculous.

Until today, there was just one problem: duplicate content.

If you used Blog Solution alone, your content would be composed almost entirely of other sites’ RSS feeds. Which entails duplicate content.

What the creators have done is integrate their content re-writer or synonymizer into Blog Solution. Which means that it takes the same RSS feeds and re-writes the content, thus removing the pain of being caught in duplicate content filters.

Concretely, your Blog Solution Blogs will have a longer shelf life and get more love from the search engines.

What this means to you: more free, unique, one way backlinks. More indexing. More ranking power…

I would go deeper into Blog Solution and why you should be using it but the Halfagain guys have just released an ebook called “No B-S Blueprint to Online Marketing”.

It makes a great read and will point you in the right direction if you do any black hat SEO with RSS feeds and generated content.

It really is a step by step blueprint. A powerful how-to guide you should download and read right away.

The best part is it’s Free.

Yup, no cost. It does talk a lot about the Halfagain products but only to situate how RSS feeds and content should be used. Plus the Halfagain products are some of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. I use every one of them and they get my highest recommendation.

Anyways, I promised “short” so here is a bullet list of what you will find in the ebook:

• Choosing Niches
• Mass blogging and blog grouping
• How to get and use content
• How to synonymize to avoid duplicate content
• How to do keyword research
• Exploration of various Grey Hat building scenarios

If you’re doing Black / Grey Hat Search Engine Optimization right now or if you’re at all curious about it, grab a copy of this report and give it a thorough read or two.
