In this article, we’re going to look more closely at how the Bum Marketing system works.
For each Major Step, we’ll look at what that step is; what that step demands from you; and how that step “promises” to help you make money.
According to Travis Sago (the “Grandfather” of BM), here are the Major Steps.
Step 1: Find 5 products to promote
This idea here, is to have multiple simultaneous promotions going on at once. That way, you don’t risk getting stuck on bad product.
And where do you find these products? Where every beginner affiliate-marketer goes: Clickbank.
According to Travis, “If I was to take a ‘Bum’ off the street, this is where I would start him at… checks come like clockwork every two weeks!”
Step 2: Find 30+ keywords for each product
Basically, since the BM method depends so heavily on a high-volume output of articles, then at this stage, you have to find as many keywords to write articles on, as possible.
Step 3: Write the articles for your keywords
According to Travis, “You should be able to write 5 articles per hour – AT LEAST.”
In fact, he claims to write 5 articles per hour, 6 hours per day. This means that he submits 6 articles per product, for ALL 5 products, to ONE directory each day. (We’ll talk more about these surprising numbers, in a future article in this Series.) Which means that by the end of ONE week, he’s submitted 30 articles per product… 150 articles total!
Step 4: Submit your articles to EzineArticles OR GoArticles – ONLY
Yes, I can hear many of you screaming right now, “But EVERYONE recommends that I submit my articles to as many Article Directories as possible! So what happened to Mass Article Submission?”
I uttered the same scream, when I read this the first time. Put it on hold for the moment, and we’ll discuss this issue in full in a future article. But for now, we have to get back to the Steps…
Step 5: Concentrate on the best-selling products
In other words, “Cut your losses” as soon as you can, and build more websites/sales-funnels, for your winning products.
Step 6: Your Article + a Curiosity-creating Bio box = a great Pre-sell!
Again according to Travis, “If your articles get on Google’s first page, then you should easily be getting an AVERAGE of one sale, per month, per article.
Ok. So let’s say the average Clickbank product you chose, awards you with an average commission of $25. (Quite reasonable for Clickbank.) And according to the above, you’re spending 6 hours per day, putting out 150 articles per week.
(Yes, I realize that he has not taken into account the time you spent finding those Products, NOR the time you spent finding all those many usable Keywords, NOR the time you spent submitting all those Articles… but stay with me here.)
Then according to his last statement, Bum Marketing “promises” to be able to get you 150 sales per week. (Using that average of one sale for each article, over the 30-day period following publication of the article.)
And at $25 a pop, that means Bum Marketing can make you $3750 per week. About $16,000 per month. Almost $200,000 per year.

The basis seems pretty sound. I never paid that much attention to bum marketing so I’m picking up a few things here.
The only part I have trouble with is 5 articles an hour, that sounds kind of outlandish…
Alex: That’s because you’re a success at Internet Business.
Bum Marketing would be WAY below YOUR level.
But for those of us still struggling, Bum Marketing looks very appealing.
Andy: I have to agree with Alex here. I can’t see any way to write 5 articles per hour, that would produce articles acceptable to the finicky article directories.

Hi,
I saw ezinearticles rank on “size genetics” with over 17 million results, (pretty lucrative term) , so may be if you take your articles as parasite and do the linking promotion , you don’t really need to go for 150 articles per week.
Secondly, I think if you find good niches (less competitive but
worth some money) , bum marketing can be productive, there are several good niches like some individual product niches where u can get your articles ranked on targetted product/brand names etc.
So, the trick is to find the niche and to invest the time in researching it.
Writing articles is the easier part and comes pretty much after that.
I only find “time factor’ as hindrance but here is where the pros can build a company employing high school english language grads or something …..may be a profiable startup.
Also, I want to say that you can write 5 articles an hour, they don’t need to be great for submission to directories, most of guys already doing it and you can find a lot of crap submitted to article directories especially goarticles.com
But , whether you can write an article that can do a good kind of presell as well , that fast…..??

I for one find it pretty extreme. I think one would fall short on quantity and quality not to mention suffering an intense breakdown very quickly. Talk about boring and tedious…
