Article Submission Case Study

Internet Marketing Reviews

Jonathan Leger is three quarters into an article case study that aims to measure results from submitting articles to article directories.

What makes it really interesting is that he didn’t exactly write the articles himself.

Rather, he is using his newest software Instant Article Wizard to do it for him. The software fetches pieces of different related content and strings it together, allowing you to place different phrases in different order and make little edits for coherence.

Why is this different from a synonymizer?

Synonymizers only replace words with other words. Articles re-written with them do not by-pass duplicate content filter and they are not “unique” enough to be posted to human moderated article directories.

Instant Article Wizard is extremely powerful as demonstrated by the little case study for several reasons.

The articles written by Jonathan were all accepted to major article directories and they also earned him expert status on Ezine Articles.

Here starts the case study: what kind of traffic, signups and results can you get from article submission and the little link to your site from the author bio box?

In this case, the traffic was sent to a squeeze page for a new domain that was not indexed by the search engines.

3 weeks after submission, here are the results Jonathan Leger posted to his blog:
November 23 (three weeks in)

Page Views Signups Sales
279              98         1

In Google? In Yahoo? In MSN?
Yes               Yes           Yes
Google Backlinks Yahoo Backlinks MSN Backlinks
0                              2                      5

Not bad eh?

A quick estimation of ROI: $56.4 an hour

Time invested in writing articles: 15 minutes times 5 articles: 1h15 minutes (Instant Article Wizard is fast).

Time it took to subscribe to the article directories and submit the articles: 1 hour.

Money earned: approximately $30
Value of list: $97 (low estimate of 1$ per subscriber)
Total: $127

But there are other ways you can have fun with Instant Article Wizard. I’m thinking grey hat SEO.

  1. Build super-targetted mini-niche sites with 10 articles on each of them.
  2. Spend only 5-10 minutes on each articles, because they don’t need to be accepted to article directories, they just need to pass duplicate content filters and not be gibberish.
  3. Write one more article and submit it to the major directories to get the site indexed. (Or use a multiplicity of slightly more reprehensible tactics ;) )
  4. Slap up some Adsense ads or affiliate offers.

Keep earning from it month in month out since the search engines will not de-index your site for duplicate content or gibberish.

Make a couple of these sites a day and 3 months later, you have a nice passive income stream…

Thanks G-man for drawing my attention to this.
