Was he using some of the tactics I thought I was the only one aware of?  I had to find out.  One way or another, this was one product I had to discover in and out.  I bought it and analyzed all the details to the "t"...

If you’re thinking of buying Adsense Decoded, this is the most important page you will read all year.

Let’s get down to business.

“Adsense Decoded:  What You Get”

When I got to the “thank you” page of Adsense Decoded, I wasn’t really surprised since the site pretty much tells you what you’re going to get.

10 videos totaling almost 3 hours of tape.  Three hours is a looong time.

I’m not a patient guy and I already know Adsense pretty darn well.  Since I didn’t want to miss anything of importance, I was going to have to sit through the whole thing.

This was going to be painful.  I hate fluff with a vengeance.

“By Video 5, I was Slowly
Ripping out My Hair”

Video one is an introduction, so it wouldn’t be fair to expect much from it.  I didn’t and wasn’t disappointed.

Videos 2, 3, 4 and most of 5 where full of extremely basic, painfully drawn out pieces of Adsense advice like “the best ad units” and other such “priceless secrets”.

Let’s be fair though.  For a beginner, this is the best Adsense quick start guide I have come across.  For me though, it was like forcing Tiger Woods to watch a 45 minute seminar on how to hold a golf club. 

I was ready to die on the spot.

At the end of video 5, Patrick started coming though.  There were two things that caught my attention.

• Justifying the text next to your Adsense Block.  This inches up your CTR, very true.


• Using a captivating header that encompasses your Adsense block.  This also boosts CTR…

Ok, so nothing really ground breaking.  I knew this stuff already but already the tone was starting to change and I saw the light at the end of the tunnel.  Maybe there would be some valuable tips in Adsense Decoded after all…

“Video 6: Finally We’re Getting Somewhere…”

Did you know Google doesn’t play fair?

Well I guess it depends how you look at it…  Here’s an example:  and advertiser is bidding $2 on the keyword “home loan”.  On one site, the clicks on that ad generate $1.40 for the site owner.  On the other site, the exact same ad, with the exact same bid only pays the site owner $0.28 per click.

What the heck is going on here? 

Smartpricing.  Yep, it exists for Google Adsense too.  If you’re running Adsense sites now or planning on doing it, you can’t ignore this.  A couple of simple changes that cost nothing and take minutes to implement could boost your payout per click by 500%. 

That’s $50 a day per site instead of $10 for the same site and the same traffic.  I think you can see that if you are to compete with other arbitragers, you can’t afford to get short changed on this one.

What’s an arbitrager?  Hang on bucko; we’ll get to that in a minute.  For now just concentrate…

“Adsense Decoded Video 7”

This is also a fairly solid showing.  It also hits one of my pet peeves.

You know those sites that tout the “highest paying Adsense keywords”? Boy are they full of it.  There are several reasons why the highest paying Adsense keywords are NOT the ones that show the highest bids.

Niche targeting is a completely bogus approach. You need to target advertisers: the ones that will pay you several dollars a click.  Patrick Delivers on this one.

He also shows you how to get the ads you want to show on your page even though the default ads you would get without this trick are low paying gutter keywords.

“Video 9: Why the Confusion”

I wasn’t impressed with this video.  It talks about implementing other monetization methods into your Adsense sites.  The methods are fine and they do work but they detract from your Adsense.

You’re not going to get a 50% CTR if you use these and you’re not going to make the kind of money you could make with the arbitrage method that kicks it into high gear.

“Video 10: What the Hell?”

It’s a darn good thing this isn’t in the first videos because I would have thrown my speakers out the window and gotten a refund.

I bought this product for Adsense, not for a freaking 12 minute tutorial on setting up an Aweber autoresponder.  What was this guy thinking?

Maybe he thought it would be a good idea to bulk up the Adsense Decoded Videos with some unrelated junk.  Aweber is a good service but this section just doesn’t belong here.

“Video 8: This is Where it all Happens!”

Yeah, I broke the sequence.  That’s because I wanted to save the best for last…

This is Adsense Decoded’s moment of glory.  Patrick shows you in plain detail how you can source as much traffic as you want to come and click your ads, the legit way.

If you have the slightest bit of experience or even common sense, you know that

nothing happens without traffic…

Nothing.  Nada.  No traffic, no clicks, no sales, no money.

Game over.

There is one catch.  This is paid traffic.  It’s extremely low cost though: think one cent a click.  You’re ready to go make some real money now.

If you can figure out the other videos and tap into Adsense Decoded’s suggested traffic sources, you’re ready to rock.  And it’s infinitely scalable, a must in my business choices.

This is Adsense Arbitrage at its best: buy low cost traffic and transform it into high paying clicks.  Do it thousands of times per day.  There’s really no limit.

“Adsense Decoded: the Conclusion”

Overall, Adsense Decoded is a solid product.  Everyone but the most advanced Adsense Expert has something to learn from this.

Like I mentioned above, there is some fluff and things that don’t belong, in my opinion.

On the otherhand, if you know how to suck out the right knowledge from the videos, you could make a killing.  And with the Arbitrage, it could happen fast…

“There is One Problem with
Adsense Decoded Though”

Actually more like three or four.

Remember that 47% click through rate Patrick shows?  Notice that was in November 2006: before Adsense disallowed using images next to the Ads to boost your CTR.  Without this tactic, CTR goes down a lot and there is nothing to make up for it in Adsense Decoded.

Then there is the video problem... 

Don’t get me wrong, I loved watching the videos and learning with examples is great.  But you would have to take 15 pages of notes to make sure you get all the good stuff down on paper so you can use it.

Finally, there is a ton a material in the package.  That’s a good thing and a bad thing.  You can learn a lot but you can also get lost.  Patrick shows you everything you need and more.

That makes it hard to extract the killer from the so-so material and a lot of people will stumble over it since there isn’t a step by step guide included.

Don’t despair…

“The Adsense Decoded Turbo Patch”

With nearly three hours of video, the real money maker in Adsense Decoded is almost hidden like a needle in a haystack.  Don’t get me wrong, nearly all the videos are worthwhile but you need a compass to do things right.
