3 Black Hat Nuggets

Posted in Black Hat SEO by alex on the November 16th, 2006

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

1) YACG (short for Yet Another Content Generator), a hybrid of RSSGM and the original MyGen has been released today by busin3ss, a member of syndk8t.net. Content generators are one of the pillars of black hat SEO and as far as free ones go RSSGM has been great and continues to produce results.

MyGen hasn’t been quite that solid for me but this little mix of both addresses several bugs, provides a revamped Markov generator and promises to be an interesting open source software for quite some time.  The name diminishes its importance.  Yet Another Content Generator?  I think not.

The server was overloaded for a while but you can download it here:

YACG

If you do, make sure to drop by syndk8 to thank busin3ss…

2) I mentioned this in a recent newsletter but it’s worth stating again. Bluehatseo.com, one of my “must read” blogs recently released QUIT, short for quick indexing tool.

It uses a couple of sneaky tactics to get your sites indexed and is free to use. Give it a try, the owner of the blog posted some pretty impressive stats based on the results users achieved.

Blue Hat SEO - QUIT

3) On one of my Adsense™ accounts, I have 3 VPS servers sending direct and cloaked traffic from auto generated sites.

Yesterday, one of the servers unexpectedly went down. This server is responsible for an average of 41% of the total traffic that account sees.

I called up the hosting company, and was given a rather long winded explanation on how they had to replace defective sockets and what not. When I signed out last night, it was still not back up.

I went to bed bitter and woke up this morning to an interesting surprise.

Impressions were down 41% on my account but total earnings were up 26% for the day.

Now this may be a bit fluky as Adsense™ can sometimes be, but I can’t believe the difference could be that big considering the huge loss in traffic.

That one server that went down has very poor quality targeting on it. Ads are low paying, clickthrough rates are low and the generator they were built with is outdated and rather low quality. But it still produces traffic and clicks so why take it down right?

Well after yesterday’s little involuntary experiment, I’m starting to think otherwise. Is this just a pure fluke or does Adsense™ take so heavily into consideration the “quality score” of your sites? And is this lack of quality powerful enough to lower earnings on your entire account?

I will have a better idea of the answer at the end of the day.

Hey! I’m just stopping by to say that the script was re-branded and changed from location

Now you can find it in http://yacg.wphost.info/

    Thanks for the post!

What did you come up with concerning AdSense? I’d really like to know ;)

    Busin3ss:

Thanks for your comment and correction, I will make the needed changes. And thanks for the script, looks awesome so far.

    Jad:

You’re right to push for results, it can be very revealing. Unfortunately, it has completely switched around right now and I’m trying to figure things out before posting stats…

    Alex,
Very much like the site (would say the ‘L’ word, but due to a string of horrible ex girlfriends, it has been deleted from my vocabularly.
Bitter rant over. I would be very interested to know what kind of tech knowledge you think would be required to make a living from black hat seo techniques, and perhaps a quick synopsis of the ways of going about getting this knowledge.
I have been looking at TBS. You mention having to tweak the program in order to get TBS to work properly for you. I have no aversion to learning new things, in fact I ‘L’ it, but it is difficult to know how and where to find the knowledge necessary, as I do not move in techy circles in the real world.
Any morsels of info you could throw my way would be much appreciated by a keen and motivated beginner.

    Hi Dan,

Thank you for your comment. I’m very happy you like the site and welcome you as a reader and participant.

As for your ex, I can fully understand that, I’ve also been emotionally damaged :) . Guess it’s hard to avoid.

I’d love to help you get your feet wet in Black Hat SEO. It’s hard for me to tell you where you need to get the right knowledge since that’s what Project Black Hat is all about… If I could name one free source that was more valuable than any other, it would be Syndk8.net. If you spend a lot of time there, read the forums, follow up on leads and do your research, you will eventually gather all the knowledge you need to make it work for you.

As for Blog Solution, it has been one of my favorite pieces of software from the very start.

The two main things that make a huge difference in how it performs is properly changing the generic templates that come with it and getting the right links to your blog solution blogs so that the search engines give them a deep and thorough indexing, which in turn allows the blogs to pass on more link juice and indexing power to your other sites.

One last note. Blog Solution is about to become even better as the RSS feeds the content is drawn from will be re-written by a high quality rewritter automatically. That will remove duplicate content issues and help the blogs live a long profitable life in the SERPS. And the $90 rebate doesn’t hurt either.

Cheers and best success to you,

    Alex

    Thanks Alex,

I had just registered with syndk8 the moment before your rss feed arrived. Good to know I’m on the right lines.
I am just getting into this IM business with an ebook product, which is an amazing new idea, not in SEO or anything like it though. I am wary of using solutions such as TBS to get traffic however, as I don’t want to jeopardise google listings, when I don’t know what I am doing.

However, I am very interested in the BH SEO techniques for other projects, so I may well become a customer of yours in the near future, even if it is just out of curiosity at present.
    Dan
PS, If you don’t mind me asking, what webhosts do you use?, as I have seen a couple who don’t allow bots irc scripts etc (is this what TBS is?)

Syndk8 is an excellent black hat seo forum and you will find many people there willing to help you get your wings. Don’t be afraid to dig for the older posts as there is ton’s of stuff to be found there.

For cheap hosting that works with Black Hat SEO and the scripts it requires, try resellerzoom, they have a 5$ monthly package that will get you started nicely.

Hey thanks for the mention Alex. I would also like to point out that TBS is an encrypted script using Zend Optimizer. So editing it is nearly impossible. For what its worth though TBS is an excellent program. I’ve used it with fair amount of success.

It’s been more than 6 months since Dan’s comment on his problems with the “L” word, which I’ve only just read.

David D’Angelo has a counter-intuitive approach to interpersonal introductions, totally white-hat, and really creative psychology.

His fascinating fre.e newsletter has delightful and amusing dating ideas. An unexpected outcome is that after reading him, I find I can get back to black-hat seo with new enthusiasm.
