Master of Determination

Posted in Determination by alex on the March 20th, 2007

There are several definitions of the word determination. The two that I retain for this article are as follows. Determination: the quality of being determined to do or achieve something. And also determination: the act of determining the properties of something.

The first speaks of a burning desire for achievement and the second the simple act of figuring out the qualities and features of something or other.

When they are used in a human context, they become intimately related.

Trackback Spider: Spammers Rejoice

Posted in Black Hat SEO by alex on the March 14th, 2007

UPDATE: email me if trackback spider is sold out and you want a spot, I have a couple of spots reserved for readers of this blog  (calgonite (at) gmail (dot) com ).

Be warned, this post is going to discuss black hat SEO and search engine spam in a friendly manner. Sissy whitehat whiners please abstain. Non-whiners are accepted.

I got an email lately from a buddy of mine Jared Croslow. He’s a pretty low profile kinda guy and you probably haven’t heard of him.

It’s a shame because he runs one of the most useful mass management tools on the web today (actually it’s the best in its class). It’s adequately called Domain Dashboard. I’ll get to Trackback Spider in just a moment, but this guy’s brilliance deserves a little introduction first.

Duvet Dollars Sucks and This Guy is Really Pissed

Posted in Internet Marketing Reviews by alex on the March 12th, 2007

So a couple of weeks ago, this new internet marketing ebook came out named “Duvet Dollars”.

Of course my inboxes got hammered as usual but I didn’t even check out the sales letter because the name sounds so blindingly stupid, I couldn’t imagine any good would come of it.

Well, this weekend, I had an inkling of free time so I went over to the sales page and gave it a good read.

People are getting smart. This is another strong sales letter with big fat income claims that make you want to whip out your wallet. A page written this well has the advantage of lending enough credibility to the product for even experienced affiliates such as myself to take the plunge.

So, to my great dismay, I bought Duvet Dollars. How bad could it be right? And I could learn something, even if it’s just a little tidbit hidden deep on the corner of a page, right?

Top 12 Resources to Discover the Massive Marketing Power of Digg, Stumble and Social Networks

Posted in Internet Marketing by alex on the March 8th, 2007

Social Networks like Digg, Stumbleupon, Reddit and company command insane amounts of traffic. Users congregate on these sites to cast their votes on particularly newsworthy items and voice their opinions on funny stories and breaking news.

It’s slippery territory as you can end up “wasting” hours a day reading article after article in search of laughs, tech tidbits and trends.

However, that’s not all they’re good for… Marketers and particularly SEO’s are known to expend huge efforts and impressive sums of money (in the thousands of dollars) to create content especially formulated to rise to the top of these community voting engines.

Top Ten Reasons Marketers Fail at Pay Per Click

Posted in Adsense and Adwords by alex on the March 6th, 2007

Direct Marketing is perhaps the most accessible and rewarding opportunity for average people to get started in a profitable and proven business.

PPC traffic with affiliate products is the budding direct marketer’s wet dream:

• No product creation
• No inventory
• Little or no overhead
• Extremely low cost of entry
• Instant and cheap feedback on performance

That’s one of the reasons why Adwords Guides are so popular on Clickbank as well as other digital product marketplaces.

However, for every successful new player on the Pay Per Click stage, I’d be willing to estimate that 9 others fail miserably and withdraw with their tails between their legs. And I’m being generous.
